pTokens BTC (pBTC) is a tokenized representation of Bitcoin created by the pTokens system, a cross-chain bridge technology developed by Provable Things and Eidoo, two blockchain infrastructure companies that later united under the pNetwork brand.[1] The token was launched in 2020 as a 1:1 pegged version of Bitcoin on Ethereum, designed to let BTC holders access decentralized finance applications without selling their coins.[2]
Design and History
The pTokens BTC logo was first introduced in 2020 with the launch of the cryptocurrency.[3] The emblem is built around the Bitcoin badge, which has become iconic in the cryptocurrency space. The design features a solid orange circle with a white stylized “B” (the Bitcoin currency symbol), slightly slanted to the right, enclosed within a thick rounded frame drawn in two shades of pink (a lighter and a darker one) and a smooth cream tone.[3]
The visual identity is fully based on the emblem of Bitcoin, with several additions, which instantly shows the affiliation of the tokens to the most famous cryptocurrency in the world.[3] The pBTC token was the first product developed under the pTokens system, which was created as a bridge for moving assets between blockchains.[2]
Meaning and Symbolism
The circular emblem format draws directly from the Bitcoin symbol, establishing a clear visual connection between pTokens BTC and the original cryptocurrency.[3] The orange circle with the white “B” mirrors the familiar Bitcoin badge, while the surrounding pink and cream frame distinguishes the pTokens variant from the original mark. The design evokes a sense of progressiveness and presents the currency as a young but promising product.[3]
