Polsat Games is a Polish television channel dedicated to video games, esports, and anime, operated by Telewizja Polsat. Its visual identity has undergone two distinct phases: an original square-shaped mark introduced at launch in 2018, and a current logo adopted in August 2021 as part of a group-wide rebranding of Polsat’s family of channels.
Design and History
Polsat Games launched on 15 October 2018 as a specialized channel for gaming and esports content. Its first logo was unveiled in September 2018, ahead of the channel’s debut. The mark took the form of a square containing the channel’s name, a shape that referenced the logos of most stations in the Telewizja Polsat portfolio. The logotype was rendered in green and blue. [1]
On 30 August 2021, Polsat Games adopted a new visual identity as part of a coordinated rebrand affecting 24 channels owned by Telewizja Polsat. The change was introduced on a single day across all affected stations. The creative concept was built around an animation of sun rays, a shared element in the new logos of all the channels. The rays form an identical pattern across the family, but each channel received its own dedicated color scheme, allowing the stations to maintain individual identities while signaling their common ownership. [2] [3]
The current Polsat Games logo consists of a sphere composed of stripes, with the text “polsat games” placed beneath it. The entire mark is rendered in green. [4]
The new on-air presentation for Polsat Games and the other rebranded channels was prepared by the German creative agency Luxlotusliner, working with Telewizja Polsat’s in-house promotion team. The agency had also produced the previous on-air identities for Polsat and its thematic channels. The soundtrack was composed by the music studio Novaspot. [2]
Meaning and Symbolism
The 2021 rebrand was part of a larger effort to unify the visual identities of brands within the Polsat Plus Group. The parent company stated that the new, consistent logos for Plus and Polsat were designed to make it easier for customers to recognize services as belonging to the same group. [5]
Within this system, the sun-ray pattern serves as the common graphic element linking all Polsat channels. The pattern is identical across stations, with each channel distinguished by its own color palette. [2]
