Polsat News 2 is a Polish publicist-information television channel and the second news channel of the Polsat group, complementing its sister channel Polsat News with in-depth commentary.[1] The channel began broadcasting on June 9, 2014, replacing Polsat Biznes.[2]

Design and History

On August 30, 2021, Polsat News 2 adopted a new logo as part of a corporate-wide rebranding of Grupa Polsat Plus, which introduced new visual identities for 24 channels of Telewizja Polsat on the same day.[3][4] The rebranding was part of a broader change across the entire Grupa Polsat Plus, which had already introduced new logos for brands such as Plus, Polsat Box and Polsat Box Go.[5]

The creative concept for the new identity was based on an animation of sun rays, which became a common element of the new channel logos. The rays form a specific pattern, identical for all stations, but rendered in a color scheme dedicated to each channel.[3][4] The new on-air graphics were prepared by the German creative agency Luxlotusliner, with significant involvement from Telewizja Polsat’s own promotion team.[3] The agency had also produced Polsat’s previous on-air identities.[6]

The channel’s previous identity dated to its launch period. Polsat News 2 was formerly known as TV Biznes, Polsat Biznes and Polsat News + before adopting its current name.[2]

Meaning and Symbolism

Turquoise was assigned to the news channels of the group, including both Polsat News and Polsat News 2, as part of the 2021 rebranding.[7] The sun-ray pattern was designed as a shared visual element across all Polsat channels, allowing viewers to easily identify the family of Telewizja Polsat channels while each retained its own identity through its dedicated color scheme.[6]

Typography and Design

In the new on-air presentation, the logos gained visual depth through three-dimensional animation. A typography designed specifically for Polsat appeared in the channel’s trailer graphics.[3] The sound design for the new identity was composed by the music studio Novaspot.[4]
