Data Network Corporation is a computer technologies brand from the United States. Its symbol was originally designed at Applebaum & Curtis in 1965, according to the logo database LogosBrands.[1]
Design and History
Applebaum & Curtis was a New York City design firm operated by Harvey Patrick Appelbaum, who ran the studio from 1961 to 1984.[2] The firm was also known for its 1969 logo for the Manhattan School of Music, which combined an “M” with musical notes.[3]
LogosBrands categorizes the Data Network Corporation mark as a curve logo, indicating the design incorporates curved shapes.[1] No additional visual details about the 1965 mark are documented in the available sources.
It is important to note that the Data Network Corporation referenced in the 1965 logo record is distinct from Data Networks, Inc., a Reston, Virginia-based information technology firm founded in April 1984.[4] That later company filed a trademark application in 2012 for a word-and-design mark consisting of the letters “DNC” with the words “DATA NETWORKS” and “CORPORATION” beneath, each underlined. The application was abandoned in 2013.[5]
