Arqiva is a UK-based technology, media and critical infrastructure company that provides transmission, managed media, connectivity and smart data services to customers across media, utilities and critical infrastructure sectors.[1] The company was established in 2005 when the former broadcast division of NTL Group was renamed Arqiva.[2]

Design and History

Arqiva’s visual identity has undergone two documented phases. The first began on 1 June 2005, when NTL Broadcast became Arqiva with a new name and corporate identity.[2] The rebrand followed a six-month review by The Design Group, Pauffley and 2Heads, with Pauffley leading the development of the new name, brand positioning and brand design.[3]

In September 2026, Arqiva unveiled a refreshed brand described as “Built for what’s critical”.[1] The company said the new identity reflects its evolution into a broader technology and critical infrastructure business, bringing together capabilities in managed media services, cloud and IP-enabled workflows, smart data services and connectivity solutions under a clearer and more distinctive identity.[1] The refreshed brand was rolled out across Arqiva’s operations, digital channels and customer communications from 8 September 2026.[4]

Meaning and Symbolism

The Arqiva name was created to stand for the “energy” behind the “connections” the company provides to its customers, and to represent the individuals at the heart of the business.[2] The 2026 refresh introduced the tagline “Built for what’s critical”, which the company says reflects the services it supports, the standards it sets for itself and the responsibility that comes with helping customers keep critical services running every day.[1]
