Eutelsat is a global satellite operator headquartered in Paris, France, providing video broadcasting and connectivity services through a combined geostationary (GEO) and low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite network. The company’s visual identity has undergone two significant transformations in recent years, first in 2020 and again in 2025 following its merger with OneWeb.
Design and History
In January 2020, Eutelsat announced it had appointed Carré Noir, the global design agency of the Publicis group, to define its brand platform and redesign its visual identity following a competitive pitch.[1][2] The new identity launched in late June 2020, accompanying what the company described as its strategic evolution. Eutelsat stated the new identity embodied “passion, innovation, technological excellence and pioneering spirit, built on years of experience and unrivalled customer service.”[3] The promotional video for the 2020 rebrand showed letter silhouettes slowly appearing against a starry sky, which then shifted in color until a white logo and company name remained on a blue background.[4]
In September 2025, following the merger with OneWeb that created the world’s only GEO-LEO operator, Eutelsat Group announced it would be known simply as Eutelsat, consolidating all its activities and subsidiaries under one brand.[5] The refreshed identity introduced a new logo with a “space” blue background.[6] The LEO constellation continues to operate under the OneWeb name, while the company’s websites were merged into a single digital platform.[5]
Meaning and Symbolism
The 2025 identity uses a color palette combining Space Blue and OneWeb Red, which the company says brings together Eutelsat’s heritage and OneWeb’s dynamism, symbolising strength, openness, and energy.[5] French trade publication Télé Satellite & Numérique described the new visual identity as associating Eutelsat’s night blue with OneWeb’s red, symbolising both the group’s technological heritage and its dynamism.[7] The new branding also includes graphics that highlight the human dimension of global connections and the international scale of Eutelsat’s solutions.[5]
For the 2020 identity, Eutelsat’s stated rationale focused on its strategic evolution toward new markets, where its ability to provide connectivity solutions beyond terrestrial infrastructure combined with high-value services created “infinite opportunities” for customers.[3]
Typography and Design
Limited documented information is available about the specific typography used in either the 2020 or 2025 Eutelsat logos. The French agency Be Dandy has stated it worked with Eutelsat on projects “from logo design to a full rebrand” and developed the company’s graphic and iconographic layout across marketing and corporate tools, though the agency’s role relative to the 2020 or 2025 identity is not precisely documented.[8]
