Davidoff Logo PNG
Davidoff is a name used by separate businesses, and its wordmarks differ by product line. Oettinger Davidoff AG uses a flowing script for its cigars, while the non-tobacco lifestyle range has a separate, widely spaced sans-serif wordmark. The cigarette brand is another distinct business line, owned by Imperial Brands since 2006, according to the Davidoff brand overview.
Meaning and history
The name comes from Zino Davidoff, whose father Henri opened a Geneva tobacco shop in 1911. Zino later sold the shop and Davidoff trademark to Dr Ernst Schneider in 1970, according to the company’s cigar history and the Historical Dictionary of Switzerland.
The Château cigar series began in 1946, while cigars bearing the Davidoff name with a white band and gold lettering appeared in 1968. In 1975, Château cigars were sold in cabinets bearing the Davidoff logo. These milestones trace the cigar line, not the introduction date of the script wordmark; the chronology is covered by Cigar Journal and the brand overview.
1946 – Today

The tobacco wordmark spells “Davidoff” in connected script, with a prominent capital D and a long horizontal finishing stroke. It is a wordmark rather than a symbol-and-name combination. On cigars, the name appears with the white band and gold lettering documented for the line from 1968. Oettinger Davidoff continues to use the script identity for its cigars, as described in the company’s cigar history and by Designtagebuch.
Luxury goods

The non-tobacco Davidoff wordmark uses capital letters with generous spacing, creating a more regular, typeset appearance than the connected cigar script. The change accompanied the separate lifestyle business: design publication Designtagebuch describes the move from script to sans-serif in non-tobacco categories, while the tobacco division retained its script mark. WorldTempus reported that Zino Davidoff SA introduced a lifestyle concept featuring watches, leather goods and writing instruments at BaselWorld in 2008.
Two wordmarks, one name
Both identities rely on the Davidoff name rather than a separate pictorial emblem. The contrast is in the lettering: the cigar mark is joined-up and handwritten in character; the lifestyle version is uppercase and widely spaced. The two styles reflect distinct product businesses, not a single logo redesign across every Davidoff product line.
For Cool Water by Davidoff, Copenhagen studio Homework lists a commissioned logo redesign and rebranding project on its project page. That credit concerns the fragrance project and does not establish authorship of either broader Davidoff wordmark.
Current identity
Oettinger Davidoff continues to use the script wordmark for Davidoff cigars, while the non-tobacco line continues under its separate sans-serif identity, as reported by Designtagebuch and WorldTempus. The cigar company remains family-owned; Cigar Aficionado reported that its shares were transferred to Schneider family descendants in January 2026.
