Jacquemus Logo

The Jacquemus logo is a wordmark: the name in bold, widely spaced capital letters. Its simple construction puts the brand name at the center, without a separate crest or monogram. The high-contrast lettering is easy to recognize at a glance.

Jacquemus is the founder’s mother Valérie’s maiden name. Simon Porte Jacquemus adopted it for the label as a tribute after her death in a car accident in 2008, connecting the identity to his family rather than to a separate symbol. Business of Fashion recounts the name’s origin and the family story.

Meaning and history

Simon Porte Jacquemus founded the house in Paris in 2009, at age 19. He moved to Paris at 18 and briefly studied at ESMOD before leaving; he later worked at Comme des Garçons. L’Oréal’s announcement describes the brand as independent, while Business of Fashion covers the founder’s early career.

The stage label spans the house’s history. The image presents the same bold, capital-letter wordmark as the lead, here on a white ground rather than black. The brand continued to use the all-caps wordmark in 2026, with no documented redesign in the cited account of its current identity. L’Oréal’s 2025 announcement and Modaes’s 2026 report provide recent brand context.

Lettering and color

The letters are heavy, uppercase sans-serif forms with ample spacing. Their consistent stroke weight gives the name a solid, graphic presence. The visible mark is the word itself; the angled lettering shown below is another treatment of that name, not a separate pictorial emblem.

Black lettering on a light ground is the dominant presentation, though the mark can also appear in reversed or other color treatments. A University of Valladolid study describes a near-black and warm off-white pairing, with values of #1F1F1F and #F8F5F0. Those values are a documented example, not an official published color specification. The study also credits Guillaume Sbalchiero with typography and identity work; the wordmark’s exact typeface is not established here.

Jacquemus remains founder-controlled, although minority investors have joined the business. L’Oréal announced a minority investment and an exclusive beauty license in 2025; Modaes later reported that Sandbridge Capital acquired a five-percent stake from the founder. Neither report describes a change to the wordmark. L’Oréal’s announcement and Modaes’s report detail those arrangements.
