Kanna is a Spanish footwear brand founded in 1985 by brothers Juan and Tomás De La Cerda. Its shoes include espadrilles and other footwear made with materials such as jute; FashionUnited describes the regional hand-sewing technique associated with the brand as “point de boutonnière” (FashionUnited).
Meaning and history
The archive images show a mark built around a pictorial symbol and the name Kanna. In the gold artwork, curved forms make an open, rounded triangular arrangement beside a lowercase wordmark. One version also includes the small line “med in spain.” These are descriptions of the visible artwork, not evidence of a documented symbolic meaning.

The montage places the gold lowercase treatment beside a contrasting uppercase wordmark. Its labels provide a useful visual sequence, but do not by themselves establish when either logo was designed or used.
1985 – 2022
This archive-labeled stage shows the gold icon and lowercase “kanna” on a dark ground, with “med in spain” beneath the name. The icon’s three curved parts form an open shape rather than a closed triangle. The heading begins with Kanna’s verified founding year, but the founding date does not establish that this logo dates from 1985.

A Spanish trademark record provides a separate, dated reference: Capiccio filed the figurative KANNA mark M-3677963 on 31 July 2017, and the application was denied in 2018 after an opposition. The reproduced record classifies a triangle device and stylized lettering; it does not establish that this pictured artwork was the filed mark (reproduced OEPM record).
2022 – Today
Under this archive heading, the image shows “KANNA” in large, black uppercase letters on white. Unlike the preceding gold artwork, this image contains no visible icon or small “med in spain” line. The change in the archive is therefore more than a switch from lowercase to capitals: the visible lockup is reduced to the wordmark. The heading does not confirm the logo’s introduction date or current use.

Kanna was operated by Capiccio, S.L. A court edict records that the company entered insolvency proceedings, liquidation and dissolution on 6 November 2023 (court edict). That event does not establish the present status of the Kanna name or identity. The images document a contrast between a gold icon-and-wordmark treatment and a later uppercase wordmark, while the available record does not resolve which identity, if any, is in current use.
