Lee Cooper’s logo places the brand name in white lettering inside a red diamond. The wordmark and shape form a compact badge, with “Since 1908” appearing beneath the name in some versions shown here. The brand’s history says its long-standing logo was refreshed in the 1990s to the version it recognises today (Lee Cooper, “Our Story”).

Meaning and history

The red diamond is a central feature of the identity. In 2008, Dazed described Lee Cooper’s mark as its “iconic red diamond and white writing” in a feature about the brand’s centenary (Dazed Digital). That coverage supports the badge’s prominence, but does not assign a particular meaning to the shape.
Lee Cooper began as a workwear business in London’s East End in 1908. The brand’s own history calls the early operation the Morris Cooper Factory; a history of the company identifies its registered predecessor as M. Cooper (Overalls) Ltd (Lee Cooper; company history). The brand’s account also traces its post-war move toward denim fashion to Harold Cooper, Morris Cooper’s son.
1950 – 1980

This stage image shows “Lee Cooper” in dark lettering across a red, elongated diamond, with a thin outline around the badge. It differs visibly from the white lettering on red used in the later examples. The brand says print advertising began in the 1950s, but that fact does not by itself date this particular design (Lee Cooper, “Our Story”).
1980 – 1990

Here the name appears in white script-like lettering over a red diamond with a dark outline. The lettering overlaps the shape, and small red points extend at either side. This is a clear visual departure from the dark wordmark in the preceding stage image; the precise stage boundary is not established by the brand’s account.
1990 – Today

This version pairs the red diamond with white lettering and “Since 1908” beneath the name. Lee Cooper dates the refresh of its long-standing logo to the 1990s and identifies that refreshed mark as the one it recognises today (Lee Cooper, “Our Story”). The image’s “Since 1908” line adds the founding year as a heritage detail.
Current version
Lee Cooper continues to present the refreshed red-diamond identity: the brand’s newsroom recorded a London Fashion Week collaboration with Ksenia Schnaider on 22 September 2025 (Lee Cooper, “Our Story”). The historical stage images show variations in lettering, outlines, and the “Since 1908” line, while the red diamond remains the defining element.
