Piquadro is an Italian leather-goods company known for business and travel bags, luggage and small leather goods. Its name is explained as “P al quadrato,” or P squared: the P refers to founder Marco Palmieri and to pelletteria, Italian for leather goods, as the company’s sustainability report describes.

The Piquadro wordmark and emblem
The first image shows the Piquadro name in a thin, rounded blue wordmark alongside a compact rounded emblem. The letters are widely spaced, and the emblem echoes the rounded linework of the lettering. The image presents the name and symbol together rather than treating the P as a separate written explanation.
1987 – Today

This image shows the same blue wordmark and rounded emblem on a light background. Compared with the first image, the lettering and emblem are easier to distinguish against the background; the visible difference is in presentation, not evidence of a separate dated design stage.
Name and brand context
Piquadro was founded by Marco Palmieri in 1987 at Riola di Vergato, in the province of Bologna. The company’s own profile dates its first Piquadro-branded collection to 1998, after its earlier work as a subcontract leather manufacturer. Its first monobrand boutique opened on Milan’s Via della Spiga in 2000, according to the company’s sustainability report.
The Piquadro name remains part of an active company listed on Euronext Milan. The group also includes The Bridge and Lancel, as described in its 2024 sustainability report. Those business relationships provide context for the company, while the logo images here focus on the Piquadro wordmark and emblem.
