Kava is a full-service marketing, design and creative agency based in the Cotswolds, UK. The company refreshed its visual identity in early 2025, introducing a new logo and colour palette that the agency describes as an evolution of its existing brand rather than a complete departure.
Design and History
Kava’s brand refresh was prompted by the agency’s change of operating structure to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT), a UK business model similar to a cooperative. The agency also stated it was working toward B Corp accreditation at the time of the announcement.[1]
The new logo was developed from Kava’s existing brand heritage. Circles had been part of the Kava identity for many years, and these were evolved to form the new mark. The shapes form a graphical “K,” and one side of the K also creates a leaf-like shape, a reference to the Kava plant, which is used to make the traditional national drink of Fiji. The agency said the combination of these elements symbolises Kava’s past and present, and its evolution into the next two decades.[1]
The agency described the new look as “clean” and “modern,” representing a new generation of employees within the business.[1]
Meaning and Symbolism
Kava’s new colour palette is inspired by nature and the sea. The agency explained that the sea reference relates to octopuses and their many tentacles, which serves as an expression of the many services the agency offers under one roof.[1]
Coral is the new signature colour, symbolising the passion and energy the agency brings to its work. A supporting cast of vibrant accent colours is anchored by a deep ocean blue, which represents the depth of the agency’s knowledge and the reliability of its services.[1]
