ContourGlobal, a KKR-backed independent power producer operating across the United States, Latin America, Europe and Africa, unveiled a completely new brand identity in October 2025 to mark its 20th anniversary and its strategic shift toward renewable energy and battery storage. The rebrand was developed by the integrated communications agency superhumans, with offices in Rome and Milan, following a competitive process. The project began in June 2024 and was presented on 22 October 2025 at the Galleria Meravigli in Milan. [1] [2] [3]

Design and History

The new identity was built around the corporate purpose “The Right Power Forward” and three communication pillars: “Doing Clean Power Right,” “Building Reliable Partnerships,” and “Creating Shared Value Responsibly.” [4] The company retained its name, but the logotype was fully redesigned with a more linear and technological look and feel. [1]

The logomark consists of eleven rotating lines around a central point, forming a dynamic symbol that captures the movement of energy and an optimistic outlook toward forward-looking solutions. [1] The design was inspired by research into the evolution of artistic and cultural visual languages across historical periods marked by past energy transitions, from coal to oil and from fossil fuels to renewables. [4] [3]

Andrea Fiori, Head of Design at superhumans, described the visual language as moving away from generic energy symbolism toward representations that evoke control, organization and harmony. The logo’s straight lines fuse to create roundness and flexibility, resting on a profile that evokes the world, its “contour,” marking the points where the company’s energy generation makes the horizon clearer. [3]

Prior to this rebrand, ContourGlobal’s trademark, filed in 2012 with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, consisted of the word “CONTOURGLOBAL” above two forward curved lines aligned horizontally. [5]

Meaning and Symbolism

The refreshed color palette moves away from traditional institutional tones toward brighter, more contemporary shades that evoke clean energy, technology and innovation. The primary colors, silver and electric yellow, reflect the blend between electrons and bits that characterizes modern electricity. [1] Italian trade press described silver as a symbol of innovation and electric yellow as evoking vitality. [2] A strategic set of secondary colors provides options to characterize the different communication pillars with a distinctive voice within a unified system. [1]

Typography and Design

The new typographic system was designed to be clear, contemporary and flexible, fusing the rigor of information with a human and accessible tone. In redesigning the ContourGlobal lettering, the design team reworked the structure of each letter to convey a technological rigor that is also flexible. [2] [3]

The visual system introduces dynamic elements and graphical patterns that reflect the movement and behavior of energy itself, sitting at the core of the brand’s expression. The identity combines two complementary souls: the flexible flow of energy, evoked by vectors and dynamic lines, and the structured precision of technology. [1] [3]
