Mailjet by Sinch is the email marketing platform brand operated by Sinch, a Swedish cloud communications company. The product was originally founded in Nantes, France in 2010, and its visual identity has undergone significant changes tied to corporate ownership shifts, most notably the departure from its long-standing yellow color scheme in 2021.
Design and History
Mailjet was created in Nantes in 2010 and incubated at eFounders in Paris the following year.[1] In 2019, Mailjet was acquired by Mailgun (United States), and in 2021 both Mailgun and Mailjet were acquired by Sinch (Sweden).[1]
In February 2021, Mailjet announced the introduction of Pathwire as its new parent brand, unifying the Mailjet and Mailgun product lines.[2] The announcement also unveiled a “slightly refreshed look and feel” for Mailjet, with the company stating that it would modernize its logo and visual identity over the following months.[2] The company explicitly noted that it had been “a few years” since its last visual update and told customers to “say goodbye to the color yellow” in the coming months.[3] The product was subsequently referred to as “Mailjet by Pathwire.”[2]
Later in 2021, Sinch announced a definitive agreement to acquire Pathwire from Thoma Bravo, including its Mailgun, Mailjet, and Email on Acid products.[4] Following the acquisition, the brand became known as “Mailjet by Sinch,” and the current logo file is hosted under the name MailjetBySinchLogo.svg on Mailjet’s official asset server.[5]
Meaning and Symbolism
The Mailjet name itself reflects the product’s function: the company explained that the name represents how its email builder and campaign features “accelerate” users’ email programs, though this acceleration alone was deemed insufficient for building meaningful connections, leading to the Pathwire parent brand name.[6]
Typography and Design
Brand asset trackers list the current Mailjet by Sinch logo’s primary color as a purple-blue tone with the hex code #847AEB.[7] No official documentation has been published identifying the specific typeface used in the Mailjet wordmark, and no designer or agency attribution for the current logo has been publicly confirmed.
