Recruit Holdings Co., Ltd. is a Tokyo-based global technology company operating in more than 60 countries, with key subsidiaries including Indeed, Glassdoor, Recruit, and RGF Staffing.[1] The Recruit logo, introduced in 2012, is the shared corporate mark for group companies that include the “RECRUIT” brand name.
Design and History
The current Recruit logo was announced on September 3, 2012, and its use began progressively from October 1, 2012, coinciding with a new group management structure.[2] The redesign was tied to a corporate reorganization in which the previous core business, Recruit Co., Ltd., changed its name to Recruit Holdings Co., Ltd. and assumed group headquarters functions.[3]
The new logo features a symbolic brandmark of a bridge, directly representing the Recruit brand corporate message: “The RECRUIT group are a bridge for PEOPLE and their OPPORTUNITIES, NOW and in the FUTURE, LOCALLY and also GLOBALLY.”[2] The bridge mark is also used widely by RGF, Recruit’s global corporate brand.[2]
Meaning and Symbolism
The bridge symbol expresses the idea that the Recruit Group connects people with opportunities, the present with the future, and local with global.[4] The color of the symbol directly continues the heritage of “Recruit blue” from the previous Recruit logo.[2]
The seven letters of “RECRUIT” are presented in colors resembling various watercolor paints dissolved in water, expressing the intention to deliver “meet your opportunity” in a way that blends with any color, reflecting the diversity of individual encounters.[4]
Typography and Design
The rounded shape of the wordmark font is infused with a sense of organic warmth, reflecting the ideal of providing flexible, individual service for each client.[2] The Japanese announcement describes this as a rounded typeface that feels like human warmth, conveying the intention to deliver services for each individual person.[4]
