Fort Wayne Football Club, commonly known as Fort Wayne FC, is an American soccer club founded in 2019 that played in the pre-professional USL League Two before moving to the professional USL League One in 2026.[1] The club unveiled a completely new visual identity on October 23, 2025, replacing its original blue, red and white color scheme with a new crest and colors ahead of its first professional season.[2]
Design and History
Fort Wayne FC’s original identity was created in 2019 by One Lucky Guitar, a design studio that was approached by the club’s founders to put together the team’s badge and overarching visual identity.[3] The club debuted in USL League Two in 2021, and its original crest was voted the league’s best new crest for that season.[4]
On October 23, 2025, at an event attended by more than 300 fans at Promenade Park Pavilion, Fort Wayne Football Club revealed its new crest, a monogram highlighting the Fort Wayne initials “F” and “W,” with the club’s new colors, autumn gold and black.[1] The old blue, red and white color scheme was retired in favor of the new black and gold look.[2] The new crest is a monogram of Fort Wayne surrounded by a shield, a look that harkens back to imagery of football clubs of the early 20th century.[5]
The rebrand was timed to coincide with the club’s move to USL League One in 2026 and its new stadium, Fort Wayne FC Park.[1] Majority Owner Mark Music said it “felt like the perfect time to update and modernize our identity and pay homage to our great city.”[1]
Meaning and Symbolism
The new brand identity was created by New York-based designer Christopher Payne, who also designed the badge for fellow USL League One side Lexington SC.[6] The identity includes nods to Fort Wayne’s three rivers, the St. Mary’s, St. Joseph and Maumee, and the city’s ties to nature and recreation with more than 80 parks and more than 150 miles of trails.[1] The shield signifies the club’s strength and tradition.[1]
The club’s primary color, autumn gold, symbolizes new beginnings, prosperity, success, and nature, while the use of black represents strength, resilience, and control.[1] The crest also represents Fort Wayne’s history of being a city on three rivers.[7]
