Qviding FIF, formally Qviding Fräntorps Idrottsförening, is a Swedish football club based in eastern Gothenburg. The club was founded on 1 October 1987 through a merger of BK Qviding (formed 1952) and Fräntorps IF (formed 1938).[1] The club’s name derives from Qvidingsgatan, the street where the founding friends of BK Qviding lived.[2]
Design and History
The club’s visual identity is closely tied to its color, vinröd (wine red), which appears throughout the organization’s communications and team designations. The club’s official matchday program is titled “VINRÒD MAGI” (Wine Red Magic), and the color is used to identify club teams in official competition listings, such as “Qviding FIF Vinröd.”[2][3] The club’s own website also refers to its members and supporters as “vinröda” (wine red ones).[4]
Documented visual details of the current crest are limited in available sources. The club’s official website displays a crest in its header, but no official description of the emblem’s design elements, construction, or redesign history has been published in the sources reviewed. The club’s visual identity is primarily documented through its consistent use of the vinröd color across team kits, youth team designations, and club communications.
Meaning and Symbolism
The club’s motto is “Topp & Bredd i balans” (Top and Breadth in Balance), reflecting its dual mission of running a broad youth program while developing players to elite level in both women’s and men’s football.[4][5] The club’s stated values are Glädje (Joy), Engagemang (Commitment), Gemenskap (Community), and Utveckling (Development).[6] While the vinröd color is consistently associated with the club’s identity, no official source documents a specific symbolic meaning assigned to the color within the crest.
