Electroneum is a cryptocurrency and blockchain project that has undergone a significant visual identity change in recent years. The current Electroneum logo, introduced as part of a complete rebrand in March 2024, reflects the project’s evolution from a mobile-first cryptocurrency into a broader blockchain ecosystem under the “ETN-Network” identity.[1]
Design and History
Electroneum launched in 2017 as a mobile-first cryptocurrency designed to bring digital payments to unbanked populations.[2] The original brand identity included a registered trademark for an “electrical lightning image” (UK00003281838), alongside the Electroneum wordmark (UK00003276216) and a European Union trademark for the ELECTRONEUM name (EU017875598).[3]
In March 2024, Electroneum underwent a complete rebrand featuring a fresh logo and the “ETN-Network” identity. The company stated this change was made to reflect that Electroneum had become more than just a cryptocurrency, positioning itself as a growing blockchain ecosystem.[1] The rebrand was followed by the launch of Electroneum 2.0, a complete blockchain overhaul that transformed the project into an EVM-compatible Layer-1 chain.[1]
In May 2025, the project released updated logo files for the ETN 2.0 branding, including dark and light variants, through its official GitHub repository.[4]
Meaning and Symbolism
The original Electroneum logo featured an electrical lightning image, which was registered as a trademark alongside the company name.[3] The lightning motif connected directly to the “Electroneum” name and the project’s focus on digital currency and electronic payments.
For the current ETN 2.0 identity, the project has not published an official explanation of the new logo’s symbolism. The rebrand was described as a “fresh logo” intended to signal the project’s expanded vision beyond cryptocurrency into a full blockchain ecosystem.[1]
Typography and Design
Electroneum’s official brand assets page provides downloadable logos and images for public use, with the company requesting that users not alter the logos, colors, or spelling of the name. The company has stated it plans to post formal “corporate identity guidelines” to clarify proper usage of the logos and images.[5]
The current Electroneum 2.0 logo is available in both dark and light variants for use on different backgrounds, as distributed through the project’s official GitHub repository.[4]
