Foxbit is a Brazilian cryptocurrency exchange founded in 2014 by João Canhada and Luís Augusto Schiavon, based in Brazil.[1] The company’s visual identity centers on a fox motif, reflected in its name and carried through its logo design.
Design and History
In July 2018, Foxbit underwent a rebranding that included a new logo, website, and visual identity.[2] The company announced the change on its official social media profiles, presenting a new, bolder logotype intended to convey seriousness and a futuristic, technology-driven character.[3]
Despite the redesign, the fox figure was retained in the updated mark.[4] The company described the change as an evolution rather than a complete departure, stating that the brand itself had evolved alongside the new platform and site launched at the same time.[5]
Following the rebrand, Foxbit also shifted its visual communications strategy, replacing stock imagery with photos of its own employees across its website and marketing materials.[6]
Meaning and Symbolism
The fox is the central symbol of the Foxbit identity. The name itself combines “fox” with “bit,” referencing both the animal and digital currency. The fox motif appears within the wordmark, with design characteristics in the lettering that evoke a fox.[7]
The brand’s color palette combines orange, dark gray, and white, a combination noted as distinctive in coverage of the company’s identity.[7]
Typography and Design
Foxbit’s 2018 rebrand introduced a new logotype described as more audacious and professional than its predecessor.[4] The company also updated its iconography and typography across its platform to make the interface more intuitive.[8]
