Injective is a layer-one blockchain built for finance, and its visual identity has undergone two significant rebrands since 2021. The current mark, introduced in February 2025, features a refined, symmetrical logo with an expanded color palette and new typography, replacing the earlier blue-gradient identity that debuted in August 2021.
Design and History
Injective’s first major rebrand was announced on August 5, 2021, when the protocol unveiled an entirely new visual identity alongside an evolution of its mission and product. The logo was refined to showcase “the harmonious duality of Ethereum-compatibility and cross-chain composability,” while retaining certain elements of the previous logo to signal that the rebrand was an evolution rather than a complete departure. Typefaces and colors were standardized as part of this effort to provide consistent branding across the protocol’s website, products, and messaging.[1]
In February 2025, Injective launched a second, more extensive rebrand. The project described the effort as a “monumental task” that involved working with “some of the most renowned design and advertising firms globally,” though no specific agencies were named in the announcement.[2] The 2025 rebrand refined the logo to enhance symmetry, making it more scalable and adaptable across platforms. The intertwined elements of the logo continue to represent Injective’s mission of bridging traditional finance with blockchain technology.[3]
The 2025 refresh also introduced a new visual language described as “retro futuristic,” adopting a line-drawing illustration style that evokes a technical, retro-future theme. This approach was designed to showcase both the intricate technology behind Injective and its larger futuristic vision.[2]
Meaning and Symbolism
Injective’s logo has consistently featured two intertwining elements that represent the brand’s core mission. According to the official 2025 announcement, “the logo has always represented Injective’s mission to bring together traditional and on-chain finance with the two intertwining elements of the logo creating a harmonious identity.”[2] The 2021 rebrand similarly described the logo as showcasing the duality of Ethereum-compatibility and cross-chain composability.[1]
Independent design commentary has noted that the icon resembles an abstraction of the yin-yang, a symmetrical symbol representing duality and balance, though this interpretation is not confirmed by official Injective sources.[4]
Typography and Design
The 2025 rebrand introduced ABC Marist as the primary typeface and ABC Whyte as the secondary typeface. According to Injective, this pairing was chosen to balance modernity with readability, with the serifed ABC Marist adding “uniqueness and elegance” while the sans-serifed ABC Whyte ensures clarity for captions and footnotes.[2]
The 2025 rebrand also embedded the logo icon into the wordmark itself, with the nuanced curves from the icon incorporated into the lettering. This was done to create a consistent brand image where the logo is reflected in the design of the typography.[2]
Injective’s official brand guidelines list three primary colors: Ocean (#4D3DFF), Space Gray (#121212), and Snow (#EEEFFF). The Ocean color was chosen to retain the blue theme of Injective while instilling a fresh, modern look. The palette was also expanded with secondary and tertiary colors, including Lime, Lemon, Coral, Sand, Forest, Turquoise, Eggplant, and Cinnamon, to appeal to distinct user archetypes such as everyday users, institutions, and developers.[5]
