KF Veleçiku, also known as FK Veleçiku Koplik, is an Albanian football club based in the town of Koplik in the Malësi e Madhe Municipality. Founded in 1948, the club is one of the oldest in northern Albania and competes in the Kategoria e Dytë, the third tier of Albanian football.[1]
Design and History
The club’s name and identity are tied to the nearby Veleçik mountain, which is also featured in its logo.[1] Before adopting the name Veleçiku, the club competed under several names, including Sport Klub Kopliku and Puna Koplik.[1]
Documentation of the current crest is limited. An image file uploaded to the Albanian Wikipedia in June 2014 was described as the “new emblem of KF Veleçiku,” indicating that a visual update occurred around that time.[2] No designer or agency attribution for the emblem has been publicly documented.
Meaning and Symbolism
The club’s nickname is “Djemtë e Malsisë,” which translates to “Boys of the Highlands,” reflecting the club’s regional identity in the Malësi e Madhe area.[3] The Veleçik mountain depicted in the logo serves as a direct geographic reference to the club’s home surroundings.[1]
Sources differ on the club’s traditional colors. Italian Wikipedia lists the social colors as granata (maroon) and blue,[4] while other references describe the traditional colors as blue and white.[5] Given this inconsistency, the exact official color palette of the current crest cannot be confirmed from available sources.
