Sure Mobile is the consumer-facing brand of Sure, a telecommunications provider operating in the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, and other British territories. The brand was created in 2006 and has undergone two documented visual identity changes, most recently in October 2025 when it was rebranded as “Sure by Beyon.”
Design and History
The Sure brand was launched in 2006 by design consultancy CDG, which created the original marque for the mobile operator. The identity featured lower-case type with a bright yellow roundel, intended to reflect the “refreshing personality” of the brand, while a red full-stop emphasised confidence. The name itself was selected from more than 700 possibilities for its connotations of clarity, simplicity and certainty.[1]
In July 2013, Sure refreshed its existing brand, introducing a new-look logo described as representing “a modern, optimistic outlook for the future.” The refresh accompanied the company’s name change from Cable & Wireless to Sure in the Falkland Islands, South Atlantic territories, and other markets.[2] The consumer side of the business received a new logo at the same time, following the company’s acquisition by the Batelco Group.[3]
In October 2025, Sure unveiled its most recent identity as “Sure by Beyon,” marking a new chapter for the telecoms provider, which has operated in the Isle of Man since 2007 and has a legacy in the Channel Islands dating back to 1896.[4][5] The rebrand reflects the company’s evolution as part of the Beyon Group, a global communications and technology group.[6]
Meaning and Symbolism
The original 2006 identity carried documented symbolic meaning: the bright yellow roundel reflected the “refreshing personality” of the brand, while the red full-stop emphasised confidence. The name “Sure” was chosen for its connotations of clarity, simplicity and certainty.[1]
The 2025 “Sure by Beyon” identity was described by the company as a “modernised visual identity and tone” designed to demonstrate stronger alignment with Beyon’s global strategy.[7] Sure has been part of Beyon since 2013, and the new identity strengthens the link to the Beyon Group.[8]
Typography and Design
The original 2006 marque featured lower-case typography, paired with a bright yellow roundel and a red full-stop.[1] The 2013 refresh introduced a “new look logo” described as modern and optimistic.[2] Detailed visual descriptions of the 2013 and 2025 marks have not been published in the available sources.
