Meaning and History
MODIS was founded in 2006, and its first two stores opened in Yaroslavl in 2007. The Russian family-fashion retailer was operated by АО «Одежда 3000». Kommersant reported the opening of the Yaroslavl stores; in March 2026, The Moscow Times reported a bankruptcy petition concerning the operator.
The visible mark is a single blue MODIS wordmark in uppercase letters. Its bold, sans-serif lettering has rounded curves and compact spacing, without a separate emblem. In the two archive images, the same lettering is shown against contrasting dark and white backgrounds. These images show different presentations of the wordmark, not proof of separate designs.
2006 – Today

The heading spans a longer period than one unchanged identity: MODIS’s logo was part of a broader restyle in 2013. A report by Retailer.ru says the blue became brighter and credits the concept to London retail-branding agency Dalziel & Pow. The work also covered store design and zoning. The first reformatted store opened in Volgograd in June 2013, followed by a presentation of the updated format in Krasnodar that September, reported by Retail Loyalty.
In the stores, colour also helped distinguish departments: blue marked menswear, pink womenswear and green the children’s area. That practical use of colour is distinct from the wordmark itself, which relies on its name and blue lettering rather than an illustrated symbol.
The preserved “2006 – Today” heading should not be read as confirmation that the pictured logo remains in use. The operator’s bankruptcy petition was reported in March 2026, and no later replacement mark is documented in the cited accounts.
