iExec is a French blockchain company founded in 2016 that operates a decentralized cloud computing marketplace. Its visual identity is built around a distinctive geometric mark and a yellow and black color scheme, a palette that has remained consistent through the brand’s evolution.
Design and History
The iExec logo consists of three columns of yellow circles arranged in the form of a triangle, with the word “iExec” in black positioned to the right of the circles. Yellow and black are claimed as features of the mark in the company’s trademark registration.[1]
In May 2017, iExec partnered with the design agency Pixelmatters for a total revamp of the iExec brand and website, following the company’s successful initial coin offering in April 2017.[2] Pixelmatters noted that iExec’s brand colors were black and yellow, and the design direction aimed to keep the site friendly while preserving the brand’s natural soberness.[2]
According to iExec’s official assets page, the logo has evolved over the years. The company currently offers multiple versions for download, including a stacked logo and a logotype for dark backgrounds, a stacked logo and a logotype for lighter backgrounds, and an RLC icon intended for most backgrounds.[3]
Meaning and Symbolism
The RLC acronym in the iExec RLC token name stands for “Run on Many Computers,” reflecting the platform’s decentralized and distributed nature.[4] [1]
