Huobi Token (HT) is the native exchange token of the Huobi Group, a cryptocurrency exchange platform. The token’s visual identity has historically been tied to the Huobi brand, which underwent a significant rebranding in September 2023 when the exchange renamed itself HTX. The HT token mark shares the same brand symbol as the exchange, and the token’s identity has evolved alongside the parent brand’s visual changes.
Design and History
In June 2018, Huobi Group unveiled a brand refresh at a press conference in Singapore. The new logo featured “tech blue and dark blue” as its main theme, which the company described as a reflection of its DNA as “an intelligent and efficient financial company.” The brand keywords for the new identity were water, fire, light, and leaf.[1][2]
On September 13, 2023, Huobi announced a rebranding to HTX, with the official website logo changed to the new mark. The company explained the name as follows: “H” represents Huobi, “T” represents TRON, and “X” represents exchange.[3] The rebranding was announced at the TOKEN2049 conference and coincided with the exchange’s tenth anniversary.[4]
The HTX logo has been described as a two-tone blue flame design, with the HT token using the same brand mark as the exchange.[5] The new identity was noted by observers for its visual resemblance to the logo of FTX, a controversial exchange that had collapsed the previous year.[6]
Meaning and Symbolism
The HTX name carries layered meaning. Beyond the letters representing Huobi, TRON, and exchange, the combination of “HT” also references the native platform token, while “X” additionally signifies the number ten in Roman numerals, honoring the ten years of Huobi’s history.[7][8]
The 2023 rebranding was designed to convey the company’s core values of trust, security, and integrity, with a color palette including shades of blue and green.[9]
Typography and Design
The 2018 Huobi brand refresh established a blue and dark blue color scheme described as “tech blue,” reflecting the company’s positioning as a technology-driven financial firm.[1] The current HTX mark continues this blue-based palette with a two-tone flame design.[5]
