Vivid Games S.A. is a Polish mobile game developer and publisher based in Bydgoszcz, founded in 2006 by Remi Koscielny and Jarek Wojczakowski.[1] The company is known for its Real Boxing franchise and has been listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since 2012.[1]
Design and History
In 2016, to mark its 10th anniversary, Vivid Games introduced a new visual identity and logo rebranding.[2][3] The company stated that the refreshed identity was designed to clearly communicate its core values.[2]
The new logo consists of a geometric signet based on a triangle, with the letters V and G inscribed within its shape, derived from the first letters of the company name.[4][5] The sign is based on an equilateral triangle, which allows the first letters of the studio’s name, V and G, to be inscribed within its shape.[6] The overall composition references a ribbon motif arranged to suggest its unfolding.[5]
The 2016 brand guidelines document that the logo functions in three color variants: a basic red logo, a supplementary logo in light tonation, and a supplementary logo in dark tonation.[6] The dark-toned supplementary logo is dominated by gray with values of C0 M0 Y0 K30, with a tonal transition.[6]
Meaning and Symbolism
According to the company’s brand and visual identity guide, the Vivid Games logo was designed to visually encompass modernity, boldness, professionalism and transparency, while at the same time referring to the company’s products and strategy.[7] The 2016 press release similarly states that the new visual identity was built on values including dynamism, modernity, professionalism, innovation, transparency and the highest quality, while maintaining the historical use of name elements in the sign.[5]
Typography and Design
The 2016 brand guidelines document includes the fonts used in the identification system, along with the genesis of the new logotype, good and bad usage practices, and templates for business paper and presentations.[3] The guidelines also specify that the sign incorporates several triangles with the same angles, ensuring symmetry and legibility.[6]
