Polsat Sport Premium 2 is a Polish premium sports television channel owned and operated by Telewizja Polsat. It launched on August 21, 2018, alongside Polsat Sport Premium 1, as part of a new offering of 24-hour premium sports channels in Super HD quality without advertisements.[1]
Design and History
Polsat Sport Premium 2 received its current visual identity on August 30, 2021, when Telewizja Polsat changed the on-air branding of 24 channels in a single day. The rebranding covered all Polsat sports channels, including Polsat Sport, Polsat Sport News, Polsat Sport Extra, Polsat Sport Fight, Polsat Sport Premium 1 and Polsat Sport Premium 2.[2]
The creative concept for the new logos was based on an animation of sun rays, which form a common element across all of the station logos. The rays arrange into a specific pattern that is identical for every station, but rendered in a color scheme dedicated to each individual channel. This approach gave the channels a cohesive visual identity while preserving their distinct character.[2]
The new on-air branding was prepared by the German creative agency Luxlotusliner, with significant involvement from Telewizja Polsat’s own promotion team. The agency had also produced the previous on-air branding for Polsat and its thematic channels.[2] The rebranding of the thematic channels was part of a wider identity change across the Polsat Plus Group, following new logos for brands such as Plus, Polsat Box, Polsat Box Go and Polsat Go.[3]
Meaning and Symbolism
The sun ray pattern serves as the unifying visual element of the new logos across the Polsat channel family. According to Telewizja Polsat, the pattern is identical for all stations but uses a color scheme dedicated to each channel, allowing viewers to easily identify the family of Polsat channels while each station retains its own identity.[4]
Typography and Design
The 2021 rebranding introduced typography designed specifically for Polsat, which appeared in the channel’s trailer presentations. The logos also gained visual depth through three-dimensional animation, with the sun ray pattern used to transition between on-air elements.[2]
